Patient jumped from the fourth floor of the Cegléd hospital, but was only found the next day
An internal investigation has been launched at the Toldy Ferenc Hospital in Cegléd after an elderly patient jumped out of a fourth-floor window of the building a few days before Christmas, but his body was not found until the next morning.
According to the Bors news portal, a terrible tragedy has shocked staff and patients at the hospital in Cegléd. An elderly man took his own life just before Christmas. According to our information, the patient broke the window of his 4th floor ward with an infusion stand and threw himself into the abyss. Staff searched for hours for the elderly man, but he was nowhere to be found.
His body was not found until the next morning and his life could not be saved.
The hospital’s director general, Dezső Pusztai, was terse in his response, saying that the hospital was conducting an internal investigation into the case and would be able to provide more information until the investigation was completed.
The police are investigating the incident, but no crime is suspected.
